Cops probe alleged Genting Highlands child kidnapping incident


BENTONG: The police will investigate and contact a TikTok account owner over an alleged child kidnapping incident in Genting Highlands.

Bentong district police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said so far, police have not received any reports from the parties involved in the alleged incident that went viral in a one-minute and 20-second video.

"The video went viral through an individual's TikTok account which was uploaded on Facebook page 'Daily Traffic Report' depicting the situation.

"As of today, we have not received any police reports from the parties involved.

In any case, IPD Bentong will conduct an investigation and will contact the owner of the TikTok account to obtain more information regarding the incident," he said in a statement Tuesday (Sept 20).

According to Supt Zaiham, the security company in Genting Highlands lodged a police report at t 8.16pm Monday (Sept 19) over the video.

He urged all parties to cooperate and not speculate as police begin investigations.
